Hello Vintage Lovers!
Maybe you’ve taken your kids or grandkids to the Trolls movie? If so, you heard Justin Timberlake’s ‘Can’t Stop the Feeling’ song. Catchy little ditty, huh?
I was trolling {pun intended, ha} around youtube the other day, there was JT & this song so I clicked the video {<<< watch here}. I have to admit, as soon as I saw the first few seconds, yes, the very first two or three seconds I couldn’t believe my eyes….I mean, look at that restaurant sign! Then, imagine my surprised when I figured out there was a theme here, WOW!
My favorite is the Motel sign with the young man dancing poolside, swoon! It brings back great memories of driving across country with my folks in the 70’s & begging to stay in a Motel with a pool 🙂 Then, there’s the vintage cars {sports, station wagon & semi truck}, barber shop, laundromat, transmission place, art/flowers stand, waitress, retro girl, car wash, grocery store clerk, skateboarder, truck driver, businessman {or ? = in the suit with lime green shirt}, tv salesman & red air dancer {net retro but very cool}, heck even the wording is retro. It’s all very groovy!
Doesn’t it make you want to go on a road trip too? Curiosity got the better of me & I googled where to find the Motel. Low & behold the LA Daily News did an article about the video & the ‘secret’ landmarks featured. All the places are far-out & what a fun, mini destination vacation time that would be to visit them all. Click the lick above to see the news story.
